Bandipora, Jan 14 (KNO): In a major healthcare development for north Kashmir, Bandipora District Hospital has introduced round-the-clock CT scan facilities for the first time, bringing much-needed relief to the residents. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the hospital has now launched a Contrast CT scan service, which provides detailed imaging for a wide range of diagnostic needs, including detecting tumors, injuries, and various other health conditions. Along with the new facility, the patients will also benefit from instant radiologist reports, streamlining the diagnostic process and ensuring quicker medical interventions, he said. Dr. Masrat Iqbal, the Medical Superintendent of Bandipora District Hospital said that the introduction of the CT scan facility in Bandipora is a significant step towards improving healthcare access for the people of this area. “For years, patients in Bandipora and nearby areas had to travel all the way to Srinagar to avail these crucial diagnostic services. Now, with this facility available locally, we can provide faster diagnoses and better treatment options for our patients,” he said. The MS said that the hospital aims to provide high-quality medical services that are easily accessible to local residents, minimizing travel time and costs for patients, particularly those from remote areas. “We are committed to enhancing patient care in every way possible. The addition of the CT scan service ensures that patients will not have to endure long travel times to receive diagnostic imaging. It is a vital addition to the hospital, especially in emergencies,” he added. Meanwhile, locals have hailed the initiative, seeing it as a long-awaited improvement to the healthcare system in the region. For many, the introduction of CT scan services locally means less hassle and quicker treatment for critical conditions. Before this facility, patients had to make the long and often difficult journey to hospitals in Srinagar, which was both time-consuming and financially burdensome. “We no longer have to travel all the way to Srinagar for CT scans, which was always a hassle. This will save time and money, especially for patients with urgent needs. It will also make healthcare more accessible to those who may have struggled with transportation,” Irfan Ahmad a local said—(KNO)
